Throughout history, castles are often found by the sea – towering fortresses, high up on headlands to scout out ships coming toward the mainland. Lighthouses are another symbolic structure found on our coastline, with another purpose. Lighthouses are symbols of safety, warning ships of how close they are to land and guiding them towards harbours and home. These familiar buildings have inspired this design, with a stormy sky and sea – and the lighthouse shining its light for all to see.
