This design portrays the legend of Cantre’r Gwaelod, a mythical kingdom believed to have been located off the coast of Wales. According to the story, this ancient land was shielded from the sea by dykes and floodgates. However, one fateful night, Seithennin, the watchman in charge of the floodgates, became drunk and failed to secure them. As a result, the sea breached the defences and submerged the kingdom, leading to its complete destruction. This castle is a powerful reminder of the force of nature.

Mae’r dyluniad hwn yn portreadu chwedl Cantre’r Gwaelod, teyrnas chwedlonol a chredwyd ei bod wedi’i lleoli oddi ar arfordir Cymru. Yn ôl y stori, roedd y tir hynafol hwn yn cael ei warchod rhag y môr gan gloddiau a llifddorau. Fodd bynnag, un noson dyngedfennol meddwi Seithennin, y gwyliwr oedd â gofal y llifddorau, a methodd â’u diogelu. O ganlyniad, dinistriodd y môr yr amddiffynfeydd a boddi’r deyrnas, gan arwain at ei dinistrio’n llwyr. Mae’r castell hwn yn atgof pwerus o rym natur.
