Pub chain Marston’s to have two castles after pledging to raise £25,000 for all-Wales Charity
Pub chain Marston’s has pledged to raise £25,000 for the Wales Air Ambulance and will have two castles in this summer’s Castles in the Sky art trail.
Demonstrating its commitment to supporting a community event as well as a charitable cause, Marston’s will fundraise across its southwest Wales pubs to raise money for Wales Air Ambulance.
As part of that, the chain will have two beautifully designed fortresses at the Swansea Wild in Art event in July.
The pub chain has already raised more than £10,000 for the Charity by hosting a series of in-house events, including bucket collections, darts tournaments, auctions and raffles, which have been well supported by staff and customers.
Communities have also got involved in supporting their “locals” with some even joining in on a trek to the Brecon Beacons to conquer Pen-y-Fan, the highest peak in South Wales.
After successfully raising an astounding £10,293.86 for the Charity in just two months, the pub chain has now committed to raising an additional £15,000 in time for the event, which kicks off in July.
Alan Beddows, Marston’s Area Operations Manager, said fundraising to raise £25,000 will not only help the Wales Air Ambulance but also help strengthen community and colleague bonds.
He said: “We are extremely pleased to be supporting the Castles in the Sky event this summer and having two castles at the trail.
“Marston’s is a community pub, and we are pleased to be playing a part in the community art trail in Swansea. We hope many of our customers and staff will attend the event to see the beautifully decorated castles and follow the trail.
“As a group of pubs across south Wales, we have pledged to raise £25,000 for the Wales Air Ambulance to support the event and I am confident that our pubs across the region will take part in the fundraising challenge to raise a further £15,000 on top of the £10,000 they have already raised.
“The Wales Air Ambulance supports everybody across Wales and is a Charity that impacts our colleagues and customers. Everyone has been keen to get on board and we are glad we are able to help fund future lifesaving missions.”
